Another priority was to open the kitchen, dining room, and living room areas to each other. The opening between kitchen and dining room was enlarged, and the wall between the kitchen and living room was removed to enhance flow and access throughout the space. The new layout expanded the wonderful water and city views form all rooms, particularly the dining room, which was tucked behind the kitchen.

The cabinetry expanded into the living area with an entire wall of floor to ceiling storage units for the stereo and an extensive collection of CD's. Pressure touch latches were used on these cabinets to give this five foot wall the look of paneling.
